A Leadership Transition at the Storytelling Resource Place

After nine years of dedicated leadership, vision, and passion, Pamela Miller, Founder and Past President of the Storytelling Resource Place, is retiring from her role as President. Pamela’s commitment to our mission — Collecting, Preserving, and Making Available Storytelling Resources — has shaped the organization from its earliest days, creating a vibrant hub for storytellers, scholars, and enthusiasts alike. Her tireless work has built a strong foundation, preserved countless treasures of the storytelling tradition, and inspired a growing community. We extend our deepest gratitude to Pamela for her remarkable service, creativity, and perseverance. Her legacy will continue to guide our work for years to come.

As we honor Pamela’s achievements, we also look ahead to an exciting new chapter. Tama Lunceford has been appointed Interim President and will lead the organization into its milestone 10th Anniversary year. With a vision for growth, collaboration, and renewed engagement, [Your Name] will build on Pamela’s legacy while exploring new ways to connect our resources with the world. Please join us in celebrating Pamela’s incredible contributions and in welcoming Tama as we step boldly into our next decade of preserving and sharing the art of storytelling.

As we begin this new chapter, a few important updates are underway. To allow us time to assess our resources and make the best use of our physical space, we will pause accepting physical donations of books and artifacts until mid-October 2025, except for items already committed. In the meantime, we’ve added a convenient appointment button on our website to help streamline visits and connections. We are especially excited to share that a new residency program will be announced soon. Of course, financial contributions are always welcome and deeply needed to sustain our work. There are many ways to get involved — from lending a hand through our volunteer opportunities (see our new page Get Involved!) to joining or renewing through our upcoming membership application. Together, these efforts will strengthen the Storytelling Resource Place as we move into our 10th Anniversary year and beyond.
